NEAT ID Foundation Marks a Successful Presence at EACS 2025 in Paris
The NEAT ID Foundation is proud to celebrate its successful participation at the 20th European AIDS Conference (EACS 2025) in Paris. The NEAT ID special session was well attended and praised for its insight, collaboration, and focus on advancing HIV clinical research across Europe and beyond.
The highlight of the session was the presentation of the landmark LAPTOP trial, delivered by Professor Georg Behrens, offering new perspectives on optimizing HIV care. The Foundation extends its sincere thanks to our distinguished speakers - Professor Jürgen Rockstroh, Nikos Dedes, and Professor Esteban Martínez - as well as our esteemed chairs, Professor Anton Pozniak and Dr. Brenda Crabtree, for guiding a rich and engaging discussion.

During the session, NEAT ID was also delighted to announce Dr. Geoffroy Liegeon as the NEAT ID Young Investigator of the Year 2025. Dr. Liegeon received the highest score from the NEAT ID review panel for his exceptional submission, recognised for its scientific rigour, innovation, and clear potential to influence clinical practice.

In addition to the special session, NEAT ID presented two scientific posters at EACS 2025 — the MASH 1 study as a rapid oral abstract, and the DREW study as an e-poster - further showcasing the ongoing commitment to high-quality, collaborative research in HIV and associated conditions.
NEAT ID were honoured to support and fund the Prize for the Best Peer-Reviewed Clinical and/or Epidemiological Paper in HIV Research, newly named in honour of Professor Anton Pozniak, NEAT ID founder and past president. This award marks his retirement from NEAT ID and celebrates his lifelong contributions to HIV clinical research and care. The award was presented to Professor Steve Grinspoon for the paper titled “Performance of the pooled cohort equations and D:A:D risk scores among individuals with HIV in a global cardiovascular disease prevention trial: a cohort study leveraging data from REPRIEVE”.
“I am deeply honoured to have this award established in my name”, shared Professor Anton Pozniak. “It represents the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and dedication that has driven HIV research over the decades. Supporting and recognising clinicians and scientists is vital to ensuring continued progress in improving the lives of people living with HIV. It was an honour to present this to my esteemed colleague, Professor Steve Grinspoon. I’m proud of what NEAT ID has achieved and look forward to seeing how this prize inspires future excellence in our field.”

NEAT ID warmly thank EACS for their ongoing partnership and collaboration, and extends gratitude to all colleagues, investigators, and community partners who continue to share our mission to advance excellence in HIV research and treatment across Europe.
“EACS 2025 was a great opportunity to showcase the strength of NEAT ID’s collaborative network and our shared commitment to advancing HIV clinical research across Europe.” Shared NEAT ID President, Dr Esteban Martinez. “It’s inspiring to see how the Foundation continues to support innovation and the next generation of investigators.”
