NEAT ID is delighted to announce the recipients of the 2026 Young Investigator of the Year Awards.

Following an independent review process, we are pleased to recognise two outstanding researchers for their contributions to HIV research:

Dr Andrea Giacomelli 
University of Milan

​

The Young Investigator of the Year Awards were established to recognise and celebrate the achievements of early-career researchers making an important contribution to HIV research. Following the success of the inaugural awards in 2025, we are delighted to continue the initiative for a second year.

​

The awards will be formally presented during the NEAT ID Special Session on Sunday 8 November 2026,

from 2:00-3:00 pm GMT.

​

We warmly congratulate Dr Sempere and Dr Giacomelli on this achievement and thank all those who submitted nominations, as well as our reviewers, for their time and support in making the 2026 awards possible.

We look forward to celebrating with both recipients at HIV Glasgow 2026.
